Carol Téten

I have dedicated over 40 years of my life to the realm of historical dance of Western culture as a professional educator, scholar, choreographer, artistic director, and publisher. I proudly stand as the founder and artistic director of the DANCE THROUGH TIME professional dance company and I followed that as the founder and CEO of DANCETIME PUBLICATIONS, specializing in dance history Videos.

Today, in my 80s, my mornings are dedicated to athletic activities including participating in my beloved Ballet classes. In the afternoons, I mentor individuals aspiring to develop their own businesses through SCORE, a government funded organization. I specialize in clients who want to build non-profits and clients involved in the arts. Evenings are reserved for attending dance performances, music concerts, and plays, taking advantage of the vibrant cultural scene in New York. I’m grateful to have a life rich in meaning and filled with inspiring activities.

A significant influence in my life was Alice Shalvi, whom I deeply respect for her lifetime achievements, and am proud to have known her. Professor Shalvi deeply cared about the people in her world and cared for her beloved country, Israel. She was a powerful feminist and woman who changed her world for the better.

Throughout my journey, freedom, initiative, human interactions, and keeping an open mind and doors open have been the cornerstones of my approach to life.

I have pursued a passion, dedication, and a relentless pursuit for the art forms of our shared Western human history.
